The Kitch Cure (2014) the photos.

The weekend has come for the cure.

Last year that meant the staff would kick back, eat hand-crafted bonbons from Etsy, and muse on the ephemeral joy to be found in certain dry vermouths...and there were no 'assignments'...this year is no different.

So, I shall review some of The Kitchn's photo choices.

This is the day we think about our kitchen.
This woman is not thinking about her kitchen. She's up to no good! How do I know this? No good can come from combining the items on her cookie-shaped...tray?

  • Giant bag of yerba matte

  • a smoothie pack.

  • Balena anchovy paste

  • Marmalade/honey

  • a bag of cake/cupcake toppings and/or pills.

The-Cure-Day2

The day we clean out our fridges.

I get weirded out seeing shoes on people OBVIOUSLY INDOOR IN THEIR HOMES.  13 years in Japan. (holy shit! I just reached the 13 year mark 7 days ago)
The Kitchn loves cats and dogs...but I've seen commentors LOSE THEIR SHIT over pets allowed on eating/cooking/prepping surfaces in kitchen pictures...even when no food is in sight.

The-Cure-Day-4
Cleaning out our freezer.

Good...no shoes. However, 13 years in Japan means I get a little freaked out by beards. Beards are very unpopular here.
I am 100% willing to believe that the moon phase chart on the fridge belongs to this man. Judging from the sparse background, it may be one of his only possessions.

I bet he doesn't "believe" in socks.

There is so much I want to mock...but what I keep thinking is "She doesn't live where earthquakes happen."

In addition to quake tumblage, that lady at the end doesn't live in NZ where sitting on the bench is like sitting on the table which is a gigantic no-no in Maori protocol. Arses do not go where food goes. Makes sense really.

See - in the last photo - the fact she is sitting net to the hob which the kettle is on - and that she has a cup next to her would indicate that the hob is HOT as she has just boiled said pretty kettle.

We never wear shoes in our house, and my girls get freaked out when we go to other peoples houses and they get to keep their shoes on - its not right at all.
