Sit down for this one.

I don’t think I have made this known:

I plan to come back to Madison, Wisconsin for part of winter holidays. I am not yet sure if that means Christmas, New Years, or both.

I have not been “home home” for four years and I have been MIA for Wisconsin holidays for eight years. I will have to renew my drivers license, as it expired three years ago, if I am to get around. The good news here is that since I don’t drive in Japan, I will probably not be confused about which side of the road to drive on when I do so.

As much as I like to relax on vacation, I’m also wondering about gig possibilities. I’d like those who know me and have only seen grainy you tube footage to have the option of seeing what I do and judging for themselves.

Run and hide, cry and rejoice, do what ya gotta do.

Obviously I don't know from gigs, but in other senses, this will surely be wonderful.

I wish I could help, but Madison is oh so far from NYC. However if you feel like taking a trip to the east coast you have a sofa bed to crash on :)

WOW!

Okay, well, I'll tell ya. My teacher is the organizer for gigs at the Mediterranean Hookah Lounge & Cafe (great drinks!):

There are usually 2 Friday and 2 Saturday shows and she is generally receptive to guest dancers if she has an idea of your capabilities.

Why don't you email me at replyhazy@livejournal.com with links to your latest and greatest videos and I'll show them to her. I will give you a reference as a known-to-be-sane person.

Other possibilities for gigs: the Shish Cafe tends to have a dancer on Saturday nights (excellent food!) as well as Bunky's (more excellent food!).

However, they have standing arrangements with certain dancers and I'm not sure of how one would get in there.

In addition... there's the problem of the timing... sometimes there's no dancing over the holidays. I wish you were coming for longer, I'd try to get you in to teach a costuming workshop at the local studio.

If ALL ELSE FAILS... well, I'll still like to meet you for coffee at some point!

Ok.

I have next to no videos but I'll see what I can scrounge up...I'll also look into recommendations (see if I can get anyone wellknown who I've done shows with to drop a line).

I realized that the holidays might make it hard and it may be impossible.

Regardless, coffee is on!

My classes start up again in September and I'll make an initial approach then... how long have you been a pro? She'll probably ask me that.

Depends on what you call a pro, but I've been regularly dancing in restaurants (at least once a week, sometimes three times a week) for over two years (started restaurants 4 years ago) am in a group (the afet collective) for over two and in the last year or so started to be one of the dancers in shows (for a few studios) when we have visiting dancers (Artemis, Aziza, Tania from Osaka and in November Karim's show).

I'll wave in your general direction from beautiful downtown Carptown.
