Halter update

I gave Henna and Anaan the halters last night, and Eshe will give Farasha
hers today. There wasn't time to try them on during rehersals so they took
them home.

Today, I am happy to report, Anaan sent me this message:

Oh my god! Sexy, flattering, fits great, and no side boob. Dude, this halter
is perfect!

I have a happy customer!

I am halfway through a day of two demonstration classes. On demonstration periods the other teachers hand out worksheets to their students (to keep them busy) and then leave to watch the English class. Today we are also joined by a BOE member. These classes are video taped. At the end of the day we will have a meeting to review how things went and how we feel this fledgeling English program is going.

Today's 4th grade class was taught by my occasional nemesis (and a man of extreme slack) Doraemon Sensei. This is the man who fucks up regularly and gives me chocolates to repent. He has improved over the last 2 years. He used to stand in the back of the class without a lesson plan saying nothing and slept through all meetings. He volunteered to do this lesson with me (instead of one of the other 2 4th grade teachers). This came as a surprise to all involved. He volunteered.

The other 4th grade teachers kept asking me if I was sure he could do it. I wasn't, I told them, but if he fucks-up in front of everyone the shame might be the last thing that motivates him to move above the sub-par line, so why not? And I've seen the shame get handed out at these review meetings. The school is too serious about teaching to be too polite to say anything.

How did it go?
You could barely hear him speak, he forgot key words, he kept forgetting his own students names, his pants were falling down and he sweat through his shirt. It was the best I've ever seen him perform in the English classroom.

Teachers keep coming up to me and telling me that I did a great job, and then they tilt their heads and say "Well, but Doraemon...." I tell them that this was the best I've seen him.

There are logistical issues with the 6th grade class I'll teach after lunch, but the teacher there is comforted that she'll have to fail spectacularly to top Doraemon.

Tribaret part two.

Thanks to mekyria suggesting a lighter colored skirt to pick up the lighter accent colors in my tribaret, cablefraga 's favorite skirt of mine is back in rotation.

I'm ready for Mother Earth Cabaret this weekend. I'd been thinking about wearing my coin costume because it goes with the funky-vintage oriental look my teacher really wants for MEC nights, but it's going to be hot in Gokai and that thing is heavy...after 24 minutes my neck would be feeling pretty abused. The tribaret is amazingly lightweight...it's got a bit of the 60's "I make my own costumes" vibes...it wins.
