Turkey Update
Apr. 8th, 2009 05:31 pmI wrote to Ahmet Ogren asking if he knows his summer schedule yet, because he's one of the main people on my list to do private lessons with while in Istanbul. I was hoping to narrow down my travel dates. As it stands my travel dates are : 7-10 days sometime between July 25-August 23 or August 28-September 23" The first time slot is easiest because classes start in early September... but they never need me those first few weeks because they are prepping for sports day.
Unfortunately:
Thank you for your message. I don' t know my schedule yet, i hope i will be in Istanbul. Could you please let me know the certain dates when you make sure.
Thank you,
Ahmet
So, no good it having that narrow things down for me. Rates seem to be firmly in the 1,200-1,300 (usd) range anytime in that, with the exception of British air, July 28-August 7 being 1,010. Weather seems to be crappy hot for both times and there are no festivals
Work will be super slow from late July until...well...late September. So I'm thinking I want the trip to not be at the very start of the slow season, even if I could save a few hundred dollars. Halfway or toward the end of the time gives me something to look forward to and save money for (and time to try to learn some of the language while slow at work).
Any thoughts?
