Good weekend of dance

I'm officially resting and relaxing on my day off (national holiday!) as my too-busy-for-even-me two weeks have come to and end. I'm still busy, true, but not to the point where I feel like I'm going to burst.
It was worth it but in the spirit of resting I will soon be back in bed reading a book as it rains outside.
It felt like a weekend where hard work paid off and has probably opened new doors.

Being a guest dancer at the lovely Hafla organized by one of my students and her dance friends...that's a CANDY BOUQUET by the way.

Me

Laughing with my student of 2 1/2 years who organized the event and sent me lovely thank yous.

The hula teacher to my right is why I have a that flower in my hair. She presented it to me when she danced. She was sublime. I nearly cried. Her students were nervous but very lovely and graceful.

The woman in pink is a recent addition to my Saturday classes. Bless her and my student for marching me around after the show, introducing me around and being all "YOU SHOULD TAKE CLASSES WITH OZMA BECAUSE SHE AWESOME!"

And pictures after my second WS. Those students worked very hard and now have a 4 minute choreography WITH 9/8 WITH zills WITH Turkish Roma movements (and about 4 pages of hand-outs and a video).
To my left is Jun who served as my assistant and translator. I came to the second workshop bringing gifts for her as thanks: Nice hand cream...everyone needs nice hand cream as winter approaches.

Here is our sleepy picture.
And instead of heading home after that I went to an izakaya to meet up with Joe, Kazuya and Nin.

Kazuya, Me, Nin, Joe.
Kazuya (who some of you attending Shimmy in the City may have encountered) is bringing me and Joe up to Mito in Ibaraki next March to dance in a show with his students and teach workshops the following day. Nin was there as a buddy to all of us and to help with translation as we hashed out details.
