It's not dead, it's alllliiiiiiive!
My talk about building a dance bra and belt from scratch (not built on a pre-existing bra, but build fron individual bra-cup forms) may have been silent recently, but I hadn't given up. This is what I've got so far. I worked on it tonight while watching a Mr. Show DVD and staying off my leg.
I sort of like it plain (no bling-bling embellishments aside from fringe and beads...if inspiratation strikes I'll add more, but I don't wish to tamper for tamper-sake) although I will get a different skirt to go with it, black is just what I had on hand for the photograph. As homemade goes, I like it. It needs a a fringe line here and there and I need to stitch a lining for the bra....but I feel good about it overall.
Yeah, the bra-cup-hat in my user picture is an early stage of this bra...after covering the cups but before putting straps and back and such.

your best bet in customizing a bra is learning to cover a ready made sturdy bra( but what sort of F cups bras aren't sturdy I wonder? Masocistic ones?)
Tribal style dance costuming seems to be more large-breast friendly.

Something tells me you'd be a bellydancing giggle-butt even without fringe.
