In the interest of taking it easy on my wrist on a slow no-English day, I've
finally gotten around to reading one of the books that Akin left me with
when he departed Japan.
Toms, Coons, Mulattoes, Mammies & Bucks: An Interpretive History of Blacks
in American Films by Donald Bogel.
Highly readable. I've been putting google and you tube to the test today
because of it...as much as one can do at work.
Right now I just want to find more and more of The Nicholas Brothers.
(edited to fix link)

But my incorrect link, that of the new threepenny opera, ain't bad either
