It's the tiny little design choices that increase your quality of life. Rarely do you realize how much you have relied on design to give you information until it is taken away from you.

This morning, while bending over in the shower to squint at Wataguy's selection of shower products, I realized that I hate it when hair-product manufacturers use the same color/design/and bottle shape for their shampoo and conditioners. When I take off my glasses and step into the shower I loose so much visual information it is insane.  If put in a foreign environment (a hotel or apartment shower that is not my own) it takes a while for me to be able to easily navigate shower routines. Seriously, my Aveda conditioner comes in a squeeze tube and my Aveda shampoo in a more conventional bottle shape and that means in the morning I don't have to squint at the words to tell what is what.

The little things.

Even without my contacts I have pretty decent vision and I heartily concur. First thing in the morning the brain is not into making fine distinctions.

However, I really disliked Phyto's habit of putting their shampoos in *glass* bottles (because supposedly they are so chock full of essential oils they cannot be put in plastic) which are slippery and which I fear breaking in my porcelain tub, and their conditioners in *metal* tubes, which inevitably crack and leak before you are ever done with the product.

Why is it so difficult to get right?

Even though it can be hard for me in my blindness, and even though it inevitably means conditioner will run out first, I sort of like shampoo and conditioner in matching containers. Right now I'm using a Lush shampoo, though, and I don't like their conditioners, so I'm consigned to vast container difference.

And add to the fact that the bottles are usualy slippery for some reason so having to pick them upand squint at them usualy means they fall and try to attack your toes on the way down lol.
