Costume confessions

I did buy a new-to-me-costume, I just haven't mentioned it. It's not here yet. It was cheap, in the way that is cheap for costumes but expensive for, say, jeans. With the pay-pal cash I got from selling my disco Bella I bought two new silk veils, ordered some sew-on crystals for a chocolate velvet and teal peacock-accented two-piece costume in the works, and I purchased a used white costume with gold accents.

I know, I know, white. I can't resist how dramatic my hair and make-up look when I have wrapped my appliance-white skin in white cloth and matching bling. If I have estimated the glow the gold will give me correctly, it'll look good. If not...I won't be rocking the zombie I'll simply flip it. It'll look good on the Asian skin of my resale market.
The girl in the picture seems to be slightly too small for what she's wearing, and a size smaller than me. And yes, there is a chance that the bra will be too small for me. It's hard to judge the top fit, because she's wearing a super push-up bra under her costume bra, so her breasts don't even fill the bottom of the cups. I hope it'll be just the right size based on the measurements she sent. If not, too small for me is a size I can sell to the other dancers in my area....they are whispy willows! I'll be hand washing and replacing the lining no matter what and could easily sell the costume for what I paid for it and shipping here.
The on-line costume resale market is batshit insane right now. The recession has flooded it with people looking to make ends meet by selling, selling, selling, and a variety of people looking to massage the recession away with a little retail therapy*...and some doing both.
Most of what I have been doing is trolling through the sales and ganking good pictures and close-up bead shots for my costume idea file.
I also sent an international money order for a used shiny shiny (stretch holographic red spandex) trumpet skirt for the fire set...so I don't melt in velvet all sumer....not that spandex is all that lighter...but it's a start.
*you know who you are... and that I love you...and that I covet your secret stashes of costumes.
