I assume it has something to do with Ataturk, if only because of its ubiquity.

I'm assuming the fists are all done by the same person (or a few people), their trademark. And I've got to say, those are some pretty nice spirographs!

Yes, I think those fists are done by the Berlin street artist Kripoe.

I gotta say, as odd as the spirographs are, I was never able to make anything even half as cool looking on my old spirograph set when I was a kid.
