It's delicious. I love that sort of style, but of course people do tend to associate it with TF. I wonder if one could "folk" it with a sleeved overtop of some kind (this isn't the best example but I'm loving the new folklore in snazzy salsa pants and sleeves look) and make it look more conventionally orientale with skinny sleeves and a trumpet skirt?
I really like the idea of medallions/lace over a stronger coloured fabric.
Oh, you know what else, and this is YOUR FAULT ENTIRELY: ever since I saw the "perfect for Ozma" black and white Eman in Australia I've been craving a black and white costume, AND ever since you posted about buying groovy patterned fabric and beading over it, the idea of doing that has been planted in my mind.
The other day I saw a big top in my local second hand shop which is white with black curlicue designs on it, and it's only $10. I'd be able to scrape a bra and belt out of it, I reckon, if I were covering something, and possibly some sleeves as well. Gotta stop thinking and start sewing!
