Save my brain for science.
Aug. 10th, 2007 11:25 amMy On-Paper school is getting kick-backs from the local cryogenic lab.
At least, that's the only explanation for why the air conditioners are
pumped up so high that I have goosebumps. If I don't land in Seattle on the
15th, well, asume that my body is in a cryo-vault and that the
vice-principal is taking a vacation on the money my nubile body brought. I
rolled in about 30 minutes late today and the VP had called my place to make
sure that I hadn't collapsed for heat exhaustion or something. I thought she
was being a bit extreme but I now know it's all about keeping her investment
safe.
My head hurts from the chill.
Once I slip away from here my vacation will have started. Schools close for
obon festival next week! Monday and Tuesday I will be free to get my hair
done, cram in the brutal hot yoga (the better to be exhausted for the
flight), and be lazy, lazy, lazy.
It is too hot to be outside for any period of time...and I say this as a
hot-yoga addict. My skin hates me right now. I layer on the zinc, zinc, and
more zinc and don an assortment of dorky hats and it still burns and flakes.
In other minutia: I have semi-retired my backpack. It is just starting to
look slovenly and anachronistic. I am no longer a college student. It will
now only be used for travel and the occasional day where I bring a costume
to work and hit the post-office at lunch. In its place is an incredibly
tacky lesportsac in "ink" print.
http://www.lesportsac.com/store/7537_3747.html I've found great used
lesportsacs for my yoga bag and general dance-class bag, but this was too
tacky and durable to pass up so I bought one new. It will be my in-flight
bag.
