Today I said goodbye to my old fridge. I'd bought it during my second move in Japan, the worst one where I was too broke to move. I had to buy a new-to-me washing machine and fridge and went with whichever two I could buy for around 300$ total.

Exciting new-to-me fridge

But it was a little big and blocked some of the open sunshine so I switched things around.

Better...but still kinda ugly to see as the first thing you see once in my front door.

Ideal? No...but it used fabrics that were already in the house and is much better.

Date: 2012-04-15 03:02 pm (UTC)My kitchen was last remodelled in 1948 so when the fridge (1960s-era) went, it was a challenge to find a new fridge sold in the US that would fit into the space allotted (the 1960's one had been shoved in there so tightly by the last resident that it had rotted the wall, I found, when I removed it!).
I ended up shopping on the internet where I did find a model made by GE, similar in size to your new one here it seems like, but less cool (no drawers).
Here it seems the default in regular stores is all at least 1m wide, which is just hahaha lolwut? in my house.
I'm a fan of the light too, as you are. It looks very happy in there!
Wow
