This Friday (which is a national holiday...but I can't remember which one) I'll be getting on a bullet train to Yamanashi prefecture. My tickets should be in my mailbox today or tomorrow.

Megu Omshanti, who was in the Karim Nagi show with me last February and who brought me to Mito to dance in a show featuring Farasha, is my host. Zizi, who I love and I took lessons from until my schedule got too crazy, will be up there doing a workshop (hosted by Megu) and the show.

This is my first time having a sponsor arrange my transportation, care and feeding, and a hotel for the evening.

Last week I had asthma, and was sick the weeks before (thus the asthma trigger) so I'm feeling a little behind in rehearsing. I'll be doing four songs (Roma, American Cabaret with zills, American Cabaret with veil, and a Turkishy drum solo), I tried to weasel out of the drumsolo, as I feel it is my weakest of the four and I haven't much time to practice recently (and after tonight I have a shrink night, a teaching night, and then it's the show) but Megu wants all four. This show has the duo-purposes of celebrating Zizi (who will have taught two days of WS by that point) and getting the local scenemake up north interested in me enough that it makes financial sense to start sponsoring me for workshops next year.

Between classes I'm mentally running through my music, visualizing the moves. There' no place to sneak off and practice. Tonight: practice practice practice!
