Saved by the pool: the numbers

parasitegirlI'm wired.
Three hours of sleep plus one cup of coffee should mean that I'm sluggish,
but the "get through the day" instinct has kicked in and I have that false
sense of amphetamines it brings...except I am hungry.
Luckily, one schedule mishap means that I am down from 5 classes to 4.
1st period I taught 4th graders, we're prepping for a lesson next Monday
which BOE members will come to watch, and it went well.
And then I sat waiting for the 6th graders...
And then I remembered that the 6th graders noisily filed pass my class first
period on the way to the pool... I hiked up my skirt, put on my outdoor
shoes, and went to the pool. Still holding my skirt up to avoid water I
tracked down my teachers, showed them the error, and negotiated who would
teach 3rd period and who would have to relocate to Monday.
I mention the skirt because it is very long. It is very long because, 4th
and 5th period, I'm a pirate captain. I have a frilly Turkish vest and
hipscarf in my backpack. We're hunting treasure...let's hope this strange
state of wiredness holds me. Arrrrrrr.
