Tummy still not happy, but I think it's just that I'm not sleeping well.
I'll get some ginger candy and sleep tonight.
I am happy to say that on Friday I am taking two hours of leave...so just at the point where I get fidgity at work I'll be free! Free to take the train home and leisurely double check that I have everything packed for the Artemis show and nap if I need to.
I'll double check my music and costume Thursday night.
I've got a feeling that the line up on Friday is going to be a Bella parade...Artemis might buck the Bella-a-thon, but I'd place Sim as a runner-up for her. When Sema Yildiz was here every single last performer was in a Bella. Now, I love Bella costumes, but Bella after Bella after Bella left me feeling like I wanted to see more variety....maybe Nourah will be a wild card, but more likely than not she'll just be in the craziest Bella you ever did see (which is what happened at Sema...I love Nourah...it was like a white-disco-cavegirl Bella.)
Me?
I gotta go with my under 35$ poppy bedlah and full red-chiffon skirts. The song I'm using, Dilges by Kardes Turkuler begs for some spinning and earthiness...a trumpet skirt isn't going to cut it, nor would my white disco-bella....I need full chiffon/silk/orsatin...the only bedlah I have that is perfect for the music is either my poppies, my made-by-me tribaret, or my Tahiya tribaret.
And it's not like my home-mades look home-made.
And it's not like my home-mades look home-made.
If you can't go old-school Am-cab-turned-Turk-o-phile make-your-own-bedlah-fabulous when doing a show with Artemis Mourat who the fuck CAN you do it with?....well, duh, but Ansuya won't be here for months and who knows if I'll be dancing?
If I had doubts they were erased by Henna this weekend. We met up for crepes and did some window shopping in Omotesando...and Henna, bless her nose, did some enabling. She enabled some blinged-out accessories to become mine. She'd already mentioned that she hoped I'd be wearing the poppies...and then we found a flower-blinged choker and earrings that would go with the poppies.
"I wasn't gonna say anything, but that is sooo Ozma..."
"You're doing the restaurant, you've got the extra cash..."
You know what sort of enabler Henna is? She did a follow-up text message the next day to ask me if I needed more reasons to justify my prior purchase...just in case I had doubts about my behavior the night before...because she'd thought of some more!
"I figure you spent under 35$ on your bedlah so even with what you paid for the bling you're still saving money..."
Then Saturday and Sunday are Artemis workshop days and Monday after work I will join the folks who Artie has met before and is hanging out in Tokyo with! All good! Artie loves The Loft and the assorted bath products of Japan.
Artemis would probably get along with Dean Mommie just smashingly. When out of make-up she reminds me of the sort of woman I’d find chatting with Dean M on our back porch.
