I finished Henna’s ME coin set yesterday and gave it to her when she, Leah, Anaan and I kicked back at Anaan’s for lunch and wine on Sunday. Now Henna and I have matching (same coins, different base colors) coin sets and can be unstoppably hot together or apart. I figure if we get off our ass and plan an event together some future day that we’ll need to call on my Harajuku photographers and get some shots together in the coins…because who really could resist all that on a flyer?

But first we need to get off our butts and do a duet and road test it…which I am writing here so we do it.

Henna…the more I think about it the more I think George Abdo. Well, actually I think “Get a George choreo under our belts and if that works then in the future do a drumsolo together with unison moments and one-at-a-time while the other accents with zills moments to top it off.”

Henna gave me her Tahiya coin tribaret. It is on its last legs. She gave it expecting I’d “parts” it, but I think I may revive it and wear it a bit before it gets parts-ed…but I think at the most it only has a few months to live. Let me say that the costume I received is full of goodness and rainbows… and that I swore I would write no condemnation of how it has been treated or particulars on its condition. Sometimes people feel the need to make me promise about what I will not blog about…go figure.

Henna’s coin tribaret is a source of local coveting. Nourah has long wanted something like it, and Farasha (after translateing much for me) indicated a desire for either something like Henna’s coin tribaret or my coin set…and I think, despite having a traditional ME coin set, Henna would like another coin tribaret.

I’ve examined it and gone online to price coins/brass charms and such. I think I could easily make something inspired by it with that vintage costume vibe to it. I’m thinking about sending all three an email about if they are interested in having me make them similar, but different (from the Tahiya and from eachother), versions of it when I get back from Istanbul. I’d use different base fabrics and different coin configurations but it’d be helpful to get all the supplies at one time.

Currently under construction:

Eshe’s cavegirl bedlah, my orange fringed fixer-uper, and awaiting fringe for my red Pharaonix fixer upper. Soon the green vintage costume I’ll be working on for Ezma will also arrive.

Eshe, do you want online updates or a big surprise when you get here?
