My nightmares

parasitegirlWhy did I fear not having a good signer, or what it would be like to rely on English sites for my rental needs? This is what is near my new place.
Look at this listing:

Now, I'm sure that it costs less up front to rent (no agency fees/renewal cleaning charges and so forth)but for me it's worth the extra 5,000 yen a month and the price of my utilities to have my own kitchen and three rooms instead of sharing a bathroom/livingroom/kitchen with others and only having my own room to myself. I'd go crazy.
Hell, knowing that I don't have to rent from a grown man who wishes to be identified online as "Ranma_chan4" is worth the extra 5,000 yen

Date: 2010-06-07 03:31 am (UTC)That said, sometimes I go on 3-week or so vacations back to Japan and rent a room for the duration in "gaijin houses," which are economical for that because it's compared to a hotel, and it's less hassle-y rules than most youth hostels (not to mention that youth hostels only offer a bunk usually).
But inevitably there are people in there that are living there for a year or two, "so far" - like, they have jobs of some sort and aren't planning on leaving the country anytime soon. I always have to wonder, why not rent a regular apartment if you're there for that long (and thinking you're there indefinitely???) It would be cheaper.
I've rented rooms upstairs in houses I found on the internet, too, but again... only for ONE MONTH. On vacation. I too can't imagine doing that as a permanent housing situation!
And yeah... Ranma_chan? Let's just say some bells are going off...
